ROMAN PROVINCIAL COINAGE OF GORDIAN III
Gordian III
Marcus Antoninus Gordianus
AD 238-244
What began as a desire to form a modest collection of affordable coins issued by the emperor Gordian III has turned into a quest to learn what I can about the reign of this boy emperor and his coinage. What became a quest for that knowledge has now turned into a passion to share that little knowledge I have gained with others.

I welcome you to my pages on the history and coinage of Gordian III. It is my desire to turn this site into a living document that grows over time as my knowledge and collection continues to grow. It is my hope that the information I present on the history of Gordian III, becomes more accurate and detailed as I am able to locate additional sources of research and learn to verify the level of accuracy of that information.

The modest collection of coins shown are all part of my personal collection. Not content to just show the photos, list the legends and references for each coin, it is my intention to research and provide as much information for each coin as I can locate.

Your comments, criticisms, and input will all be gladly accepted, appreciated and acknowledged on the site. This isn't a showcase of my knowledge (which isn't much), but a growing source of information for all to use about an emperor that I, and hopefully others, find fascinating by what we don't know. Enjoy.
