Gordian III and Serapis
AE26, 12.13 gms, die axis 7h
AMNG 398v, Moushmov (see below)
Obv: AVT K M ANTW GOPDIANOC AVG
Facing busts of Gordian III and Serapis rt., star before
Rev: DIONYCOPOLEITWN, E in field
Nemesis standing left, in lowered right hand a rod, in the left a bridle, before her feet a wheel, E in right field
Moushmov 128 incorrectly describes the reverse as: Nemesis standing, holding measure and sling; down below - wheel, in the margin E. The plate photo clearly shows Nemesis holding a rod. Sling or Bridle? I have choosen to agree with AMNG.
